You were obese once? That pic didn't even look That but still, I am in awe of the transformation.

In that picture It was dark, and I was wearing a very dark dress :) It's like being in camoflauge! Plus I am about 2 inches short of being 6 feet tall. That helps too. I stopped weighing myself at 222 lbs. I know I gained at least 10 more after that, but I don't have any technical readings. But I was well into the obese category.
I never did a fad diet :) But I do have a friend who goes on them all the time, I think just to drive me crazy because I know how horrible they are for you.
I lost the weight slowly, about 1 lbs a week, sometimes less, by changing my habits on my own. I took one meal at a time and made it as healthy as I could, until it was a habit. I started with just breakfast (because I cared about breakfast the least, half the time I didn't eat it.) I made it as healthy as I could and actually made time to have it. Once that was a habit I moved onto lunch, then onto snacks, and lastly dinner (the meal I cared the most about, that was comfort food time.) I also tried to exercise a minimum of 4 times a week. I built that into a 6 day a week habit.
From the 222lbs high, I eventually got down to 150lbs (my "healthy Weight Range is supposedly 129-174, but I was happy at 150.) I am back at 169lbs right now, but I'm on my way to getting rid of those too (it was actually a metabolism issue that caused me to gain the weight - unlike when I went over 200 lbs - that was just me) and getting back to 150lbs.
